🌮 Where to Eat Next

Pearl Sushi

Pearl Sushi is a newer entrant to the scene in the Uptown/Knox area.

The brains behind this operation are chef Shine Tamaoki (formerly of Nobu) and his business partner Todd Landis, who've created something pretty special at 4640 McKinney Ave in the Knox area.

The fish is caught and brought to the restaurant daily, and the difference is noticeable.

The vibe strikes that sweet spot between upscale and approachable. Sure, this isn't your $5 California roll destination, but the quality justifies the price tag.

Pro tip: They do monthly omakases if you really want to let the chef show off, plus there's a takeaway window for when you need your sushi fix on the go.
