💧 Dallas Drip - May 28th

Your Essential Weekend Guide

Here’s everything you need to know from this week, and everything to do this weekend.

But first, we’d like to ask your opinion on the Drip.

Why do you like the Drip?

Hey everyone, we started this newsletter as a way for all of Dallas to get a quick snapshot of the city going into the weekend - weather, sports, news, events, and more.

After talking to and hearing from our readers, it seems like events are the most important section by far.

We’re trying to decide which direction to go in, and would love to get your opinion. If we focus on events then we can improve that section and include more events, more info, ticket discounts, etc.

We’ve added a quick, one-question poll below - just click whichever answer you agree with and your response will be recorded.

🏆 Sports Recap

  • Dallas Stars: The Dallas Stars dropped Game 4 of the Western Conference Final to the Edmonton Oilers, 4–1, and now trail the series 3–1. Despite an early lead, Dallas couldn’t keep pace as the Oilers scored four unanswered goals and dominated the game. The Stars return to Dallas for Game 5 on Thursday night, hoping to keep their Stanley Cup hopes alive.

  • Texas Rangers: The Texas Rangers picked up a 2–0 win over the Blue Jays on Tuesday night, with Josh Jung breaking a scoreless tie in the eighth inning Next, the Rangers begin a weekend series at home against the St. Louis Cardinals, with Jack Leiter, Patrick Corbin, and Jacob deGrom set to take the mound across the three games starting Friday. It’s a key stretch for Texas as they look to build some momentum.

  • FC Dallas: FC Dallas continues to struggle, falling 1–0 to the Seattle Sounders on Saturday, marking their third consecutive loss in MLS play. The team has secured only one win in their last six matches—a 3–1 victory over AV Alta FC in the U.S. Open Cup—and their last league win dates back to April against Inter Miami. With a packed schedule, Dallas faces FC Cincinnati on the road tonight before returning home to host the Philadelphia Union on Saturday.

🌮 Where to Eat Next

BAR-Ranch Steak Company

If you love a good steak then you will absolutely love this place! We went on Saturday (after finding it online) and were blown away.

BAR-Ranch Steak Company in downtown Plano is a craft butcher shop that transforms from a casual lunch spot during the day into a steakhouse by night.

They dry and wet age their steaks right there in the shop (with a view of it from your table!) so you know you're getting some high quality beef. The lunch crowd can grab stellar sandwiches and burgers with a cold beer, while dinner service brings out the full steakhouse experience with all the dry-aged goodness you'd expect.
