Good morning, Dallas!

The Stars are one loss away from packing up for the summer. Game 6 drops Thursday night in St. Paul, and Jake Oettinger needs to be a wall. The Cowboys spent draft weekend in full defensive overhaul mode, grabbing Caleb Downs at 11 and Malachi Lawrence at 23, with five of seven picks on that side of the ball. The Rangers? Doing their best impression of a team that left the bats at home, dropping three straight.

This weekend is loud and very Dallas: the International Guitar Festival takes over Market Hall, the Margarita Festival pours at The Village, Kid Cudi headlines Dos Equis Pavilion, and Sunday is Cinco de Mayo across the city. Bring an appetite. Bring earplugs.

🏆 Sports Recap

Dallas Stars 🏒

Down 3-2 and one loss away from elimination. The Wild won Tuesday at American Airlines Center 4-2, fueled by a Mats Zuccarello goal in his return from injury, a Matt Boldy power-play strike, and a Michael McCarron breakaway through the five-hole. Jason Robertson scored his fifth goal of the series and now has an eight-game playoff goal streak dating back to last year's Conference Final, but the rest of the offense managed just 22 shots on net. The power play has had moments. The five-on-five attack has been mostly quiet. Mikko Rantanen wants quicker puck movement. The whole building wants more bodies at the net. Game 6 is Thursday at Grand Casino Arena.

🌮 Where to Eat Next

Uptown Dumpling

📍 North Dallas, 18101 Preston Rd, Suite 204c

Uptown Dumpling is the most interesting thing to happen to North Dallas dining in a while. Tucked into a Preston Road strip mall in the old Tian Tian space, the restaurant opened quietly in March under chef Hao Wenjie, a UNESCO Ambassador of Intangible Culinary Heritage who has led China Day banquets at the United Nations and helped launch the Michelin Guide in Beijing. Yes, that chef. In a strip mall. Off the Tollway.

The menu centers on the Jiangnan region of eastern China, the birthplace of xiao long bao. Six varieties of soup dumplings include classic pork-and-shrimp, pork-and-green-pepper, and a black-wrapper Wagyu-and-truffle that gets ordered at every other table. The Peking duck arrives with pancakes, scallions, and cucumber, carved properly. The Sichuan Dandan noodles are handmade with serious bounce. The tea program is real, including an aged tangerine peel pu'er meant to settle a heavy meal.
