🌮 Where to Eat Next
Jeng Chi
📍 400 N. Greenville Ave, Richardson

The soup dumplings at Jeng Chi have been drawing crowds to Richardson's Chinatown since 1990. Thirty-five years later, the Teng family is still hand-rolling every single one. That's not marketing copy. They literally process pork skin in-house to extract the gelatin that becomes the soup inside.
Third-generation owner Chico Teng and his wife Janelle expanded the restaurant into an 8,300-square-foot space with a full bar and scratch bakery. The menu now spans Taiwanese and Northern Chinese dishes, but the dumplings remain the reason to drive up Greenville Avenue. Xiaolongbao, pot stickers, boiled, steamed: pick your style.
Order the small juicy dumplings and the green onion pancake, then let someone at the table get the mapo tofu. Reservations on OpenTable; weekends fill up fast.
