🏆 Sports Recap
Dallas Stars 🏒
Season's over. Minnesota took it in six, finishing things off Thursday at Grand Casino Arena 5-2. Dallas hung in for two periods, but Kirill Kaprizov broke it open with a four-point night and Joel Eriksson Ek added insurance. Jason Robertson scored once more, ending his run with five goals against the Wild. The team had real moments and big questions: an inconsistent five-on-five attack, a power play that ran hot and cold, and a third straight spring of falling short of the Conference Finals. Roster decisions and coaching questions are now the conversation.
Final scores:
April 30th: Lost to the Minnesota Wild 5-2 (Game 6, eliminated)
April 28th: Lost to the Minnesota Wild 4-2 (Game 5)
April 25th: Lost to the Minnesota Wild 3-2 in OT (Game 4)
Dallas Mavericks 🏀
The biggest news in Dallas sports happened off the floor: the Mavs hired Masai Ujiri as team president and alternate governor on Monday. He's the executive who built the 2019 Raptors champs and a two-time NBA Executive of the Year. Tuesday's intro presser made clear that Jason Kidd's future and the front office structure are both being evaluated. The 2026 NBA Draft Lottery is Sunday, May 10 at 2 PM CT on ABC. Dallas owns the 8th-best odds at the No. 1 pick (6.7%) and a 31.9% shot at the top four.
Texas Rangers ⚾
Rough stretch. The Rangers won the opener in Detroit Friday 5-4, then dropped the next two (5-1 Saturday, 7-1 Sunday on national TV). They flew to New York and lost 7-4 Tuesday night to start a quick three-game set with the Yankees. They get tonight and a Thursday matinee to salvage the trip before flying home for a weekend with the Cubs and a Diamondbacks series next week.
Recent scores:

May 3rd: Lost to the Detroit Tigers 7-1

FC Dallas ⚽
Finally. Eric Quill's group went into Harrison and beat the Red Bulls 2-0 Saturday night to snap a four-match winless run. They're back at Toyota Stadium Saturday for a home date against Real Salt Lake. A win there starts to look like real momentum.
Recent scores:

April 25th: Lost to the Seattle Sounders 2-1
April 22nd: Lost to Minnesota United FC 1-0

Maroma
📍 Design District, 1333 Oak Lawn Avenue

Maroma opened Monday in the Design District and immediately became the most-talked-about table in Dallas. It's the latest from chef Omar Flores (Casa Brasa, Even Coast, Muchacho) and Big Dill Hospitality, set inside the ground floor of the brand-new Thirteen Thirty Three Building. The concept is "refined coastal Mexico," with the kitchen leaning hard on raw bar, ceviches, aguachiles, and live-fire cooking from a wood-and-charcoal grill.
